This method can be used to unlock the Tarren Mill flight point at the end of a Silverpine based 1-60 horde route. This saves you anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes depending on a number of factors. I try to farm some fish on the way, but they appear to be resistant to kiting so you have to slow down a bit. They also bite hard!
Edit - I forgot that death skips don't teleport you across zone borders so you can actually just die in the lake when it shows Alterac Mountains Lordamere Lake which saves an additional 1 minute
