Good evening,
The Peace Pagoda was unveiled in 1984 in Battersea Park, London. it was the idea of the Buddhist Monk, a leading advocate for world Peace, Nichidatsu Fujii, a member of the Buddhist order, Nipponzan Myohoji. Fujji lived to be one-hundred and was a close friend of Mahatma Gandhi, who reffered to him affectionately as Guruji.
At least twice a year various orders of Buddhist monks assemble here and hold ceremonies.
