Within Idaho there is a dormant volcano that is largely forgotten about, as it is looked over due to the presence of 4 other fairly close and more active volcanoes. What I am referring to is the Cerro Grande lava field, which last erupted approximately 11,900 years ago. Its eruptions occurred along a localized rift zone, leading to the creation of 3 lava flows that covered an area of approximately 77 square miles.
