Il borgo di Civita Superiore di Bojano (Provincia di Campobasso) è una frazione di questo comune, nonché storico presidio fortificato a guardia della piana dell'omonimo comune, edificato nell'XI secolo dai Normanni, e rimasto attivo come presidio fortificato degli Svevi, degli Angioini, e dei Pandone, sino al decadimento delle strutture militari nel XVII secolo, e alla semi distruzione a causa del terremoto di Sant'Agata del 1805, che sconvolse la piana di Bojano e del Matese.
Il paese fortificato si compone del borgo antico, ancora in parte cinto dalle mura e della rocca dei Pandone, l'antico castello che sorvegliava il paese sorto ai suoi piedi.

The village of Civita Superiore di Bojano (Province of Campobasso) is a fraction of this municipality, as well as a historic fortified garrison guarding the plain of the homonymous municipality, built in the 11th century by the Normans, and remained active as a fortified garrison of the Swabians, Angioini, and Pandone, until the decay of military structures in the seventeenth century, and the semi-destruction due to the earthquake of Sant'Agata in 1805, which upset the plain of Bojano and Matese.
The fortified town is made up of the ancient village, still partly surrounded by walls, and the fortress of the Pandone, the ancient castle that guarded the town built at its feet.
