Continuing to use the tracker that Sektor had placed onto the Edenian Demi-God Taven, Sonya Blade and her Special Forces squad continued to track the mysterious warrior. Much to her surprise, Taven had unintentionally led them directly to the Red Dragon's mainbase in Charred Mountain. Beginning an ambush within the Krimson Forest outside the Red Dragon Caverns, the Special Forces and Red Dragon clan battled it out within the woods. As Sonya attempted to enter their base, the subleader of the clan intervened. Mavado challenged Sonya Blade and swore to capture her for intel as he had done the same to Sonya's old rival Kano.
