The top 1% now own nearly twice as much wealth as the rest of the world combined. In Nigeria, just 6,355 people, the wealthiest 0.003% of the country, have 1.4 times more wealth than 107 million Nigerians.
On 20th January, our Country Director, @vincentahonsi, spoke on "Inequality in Nigeria" on @moneylinewithnancytv.
Citing the #DAVOS report, he stressed taxing the super-rich and blocking the loopholes in Nigeria's tax incentives and fuel subsidies.
The wealth gap is growing at an alarming rate.
"Poverty is a subset of inequality", and it's time for a fair distribution of wealth to combat poverty and promote equality for all.
