Obbattu (Holige / Puran Poli) Recipe
A soft, sweet flatbread filled with a delicious lentil–jaggery mixture, popular in South Indian festivals.
Ingredients-
For the dough / kanaka
• 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
• 1/4 cup fine semolina
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 2 pinch of turmeric
• 1/4 cup oil or ghee
• 1/2 cup water
For the filling (hoorna):
• 1 cup toordal or chana dal
• 1 cup jaggery (grated)
• 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
• 2 cloves
• 1 inch dried ginger
