Too get the Coelacanth you need too have caught the 5 previous King's.
-Squid
-Monkfish(Pain in the ass; you fish in the actual spring that you boil eggs + relax in)
-Carp
-Catfish
-Jp. Huchen
You then must go into the winter mine, dig too the 9th level and goo too the small fishing area.
A question I know that will pop up is: How did you get the '!' so fast?
Visual boy Advance IS an emulator - because of which It has a feature for all games too directly 'save' and 'load' So, I fished - when I first saw the '!' clicked file save. Then used the hot key Ctrl + L too load it. Then hit enter and immediately after clicked my 'b' key. This allows you too not have too constantly wait for '!' and what not.
This is my second time getting all the river kings - the first time being on my GBA. However I was surprised too get the legendary 6th river king in such a fast time!
