On the evening of Saturday, April 22, 2017, John Tors debated Dr. Tony Costa on the topic of "The Methodology of the Reconstruction of the Greek New Testament." Tors was contending for the Majority Reading/Byzantine-Text Approach, while Dr. Costa argued for Reasoned Eclecticism, the dominant approach that was used to produce the Nestle-Aland (NA) Greek Text -- which underlies the majority of modern English translations.
John Tors is Director for the Truth In My Days ministry. The debate was held at Toronto Free Presbyterian Church in Scarborough, ON, Canada. It was an opportunity to raise awareness of this topic, which is of crucial importance, yet remains virtually unknown among today's Christians.
