Описание: Croatia vs Albania vs Serbia vs Bulgaria vs Bosnia & Herzegovina- Country Comparison: On the basis of Area, Economy, Military, Government, Culture, Population, Gender Ratio, Literacy Rate, Export, Import, Tourism, Olympics Medals, etc.

The Balkans:
The term "Balkan" is derived from a Turkish word meaning a "chain of wooded mountains". It is defined more by its historical, political, and cultural identity than by rigid geographical borders. The Balkans, is a geographically and historically complex region in Southeastern Europe, defined by mountainous terrain and a tumultuous history of, Ottoman, Byzantine, and Slavic influence. It includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and parts of Greece and Turkey.

Croatia:
Croatia (Croatian: Hrvatska), officially the Republic of Croatia (Croatian: Republika Hrvatska), is a country at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe. It shares a coastline along the Adriatic Sea. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro to the southeast, and shares a maritime border with Italy to the west and southwest. Croatia's capital and largest city, Zagreb, forms one of the country's primary subdivisions, with twenty counties. The country spans an area of 56,594 square kilometers, hosting a population of nearly 3.9 million.

Albania:
Albania, officially the Republic of Albania, is a country in Southeast Europe. It is located in the Balkans, on the Adriatic and Ionian Seas within the Mediterranean Sea, and shares land borders with Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, North Macedonia to the east and Greece to the south. With an area of 28,748 km2 (11,100 sq mi), it has a varied range of climatic, geological, hydrological and morphological conditions. Albania's landscapes range from rugged snow-capped mountains in the Albanian Alps and the Korab, Skanderbeg, Pindus and Ceraunian Mountains, to fertile lowland plains extending from the Adriatic and Ionian seacoasts. Tirana is the capital and largest city in the country.

Serbia:
Serbia, officially the Republic of Serbia, is a landlocked country in Southeast and Central Europe. Located in the Balkans, it borders Hungary to the north, Romania to the northeast, Bulgaria to the southeast, North Macedonia to the south, Croatia to the northwest, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the west, and Montenegro to the southwest. Serbia also claims to share a border with Albania through the disputed territory of Kosovo. Serbia has about 6.6 million inhabitants, excluding Kosovo. Belgrade, Serbia's capital, is also its largest city.

Albania-Serbia Conflict:
The Albania–Serbia rivalry is rooted in history, nationalism, and the Kosovo issue. Serbia views Kosovo as its historical heartland, while Albanians see it as central to their identity. Tensions intensified after Kosovo’s 2008 declaration of independence, backed by Albania but rejected by Serbia. Ethnic clashes, diplomatic disputes, and football incidents symbolize deeper political and cultural mistrust in the Balkans.

Bulgaria:
Bulgaria, officially the Republic of Bulgaria, is a country in Southeast Europe. It is situated on the eastern portion of the Balkans directly south of the Danube river and west of the Black Sea. Bulgaria is bordered by Greece and Turkey to the south, Serbia and North Macedonia to the west, and Romania to the north. It covers a territory of 110,994 Km2. Sofia is the nation's capital and largest city.

Serbia and Bulgaria have a history of rivalry but no active conflict today. Tensions date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, especially the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885, fought over influence in the Balkans.

Bosnia and Herzegovina:
Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a country at the crossroads of south and southeast Europe, located in the Balkans. Bosnia and Herzegovina borders Serbia to the east, Montenegro to the southeast, and Croatia to the north and southwest. In the south it has a narrow coast on the Adriatic Sea within the Mediterranean, which is about 20 kilometers long and surrounds the town of Neum. Bosnia, which is the inland region of the country, has a moderate continental climate with hot summers and cold, snowy winters. In the central and eastern regions of the country, the geography is mountainous, in the northwest it is moderately hilly, and in the northeast, it is predominantly flat. Herzegovina, which is the smaller, southern region of the country, has a Mediterranean climate and is mostly mountainous. Sarajevo is the capital and the largest city in the country.
