Sophists: The Philosophers who Demolished Truth and Morality

Описание: The Sophists were a loose band of philosophers in 5th century BCE Greece. Sophists’ rise was a reaction to teachings of the earlier Greek philosophers. The earlier Greek philosophers were primarily interested in the universe rather than man or society. The Sophists were the first to focus on man and society. Sophists were also the first to use inductive method. Sophists were wandering teachers, who enabled their clients to prove or establish anything. For them, whatever works or gives pleasure is true or right. Famous Sophists included Protagoras, Antiphon, and Thrasymachus.
