California Weather: Midweek clearing inland; fog returns at times
A quick midweek system exits Northern and Central California, bringing coastal hazards and improving inland weather.
Sneaker waves and strong rip currents prompt a beach hazard statement from the Bay Area to the Monterey Bay Peninsula. Inland areas trend drier with a mix of sun and clouds, patchy valley fog at times, and Sierra snow ending. A weakening system this weekend meets strong high pressure, keeping most areas dry with only a slight chance of light sprinkles late Sunday into early Monday. Warmer, drier conditions follow into early February.
