On 2nd Aug 2015 I launched a high altitude weather balloon to the edge of space to get stunning photographs and video footage showing the curvature of the earth. The payload contained two GoPro cameras, two trackers and an external battery pack. It travelled a distance of over 70 miles from its launch site in the New Forest to where it landed in West Wycombe. Its flight time was 2 hours 51 minutes and I safely retrieved it from the edge of a cornfield. The payload reached a height of 34,634m, was exposed to wind speeds of over 100 mph and temperatures of about -40oC.
