The Church of St. John of Nepomuk in Dubno is an outstanding architectural monument belonging to the State Historical and Cultural Reserve of the city. The temple was built in 1817-1830 in the Romanesque style with Renaissance elements. It is the fourth to replace its predecessors, three of which were destroyed by fire in 1725, 1749 and 1811. The church is dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk, a priest, martyr and Czech saint of the 14th century.
The parish of St. John of Nepomuk appeared in Dubnj at the beginning of the 16th century thanks to the support of Prince Jan of Ostrog. The construction and development of the church was financed by famous princes
Despite the First and Second World Wars, the church remained almost undamaged. However, during the Soviet era it was converted into a sports school, which led to significant changes in the architecture, including the destruction of wall paintings and changes to the façade. After Ukraine gained independence, the temple was returned to the faithful, and worship was resumed.
