2200 years of History and more than 20,000 square feet of Ceiling paintings inside the cave. A UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most beautiful places we will get to see.
In addition to the mural paintings there are around 160 Buddha Statues made out of the rock itself and using materials much as clay, quarts and bricks. The paintings are about the stories from the lifetime of the Buddha.#dambulla
Paintings done on dry plaster using a technique called fresco succo.
