I like Alula EVO (TREK) soarer so I wished to try to make same shape ornithopter.
For the first I made Alula type1 to see how it fly and the result is fairly well .
This is 2nd type of Alula ornithopter which has swept forward wing.
Normally swept forward wing has pitch up moment compare to the swept back one.
So, I think it is good character for the ornithopter.
Swept forward angle is 10 degrees and has all wing moving control way (pitch and roll). And there is no horizontal tail but only has vertical stabilizer same as type1.
This time I intentionally try without rudder function to see how it fly.
In this video shows as you can see the difficulty to control turning.
So, I will add rudder function next time same as type1 to get good turning control.
*Wing material is 1mm EPP sheet and body is 2.5mm EPP.
*Wing span:630mm, chord:155mm
*Body:360mm (up to tail end)
*AUW: 49.0g (include 160mmAh 1cell lipo) ( without lipo:44.5g)
*Motor:1cell KV11000 7.3g BL motor for WLtoy977
*Reduction ratio: 31.5 (main:60/10+42/motor:8)
*ESC: Flash hobby BLHeli-s for 1~2cell(max7A)
