A major controversy has emerged after the declaration of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 results. While the country celebrates the success of toppers, an unusual dispute has surfaced over All India Rank 301, where two candidates named Akanksha Singh have claimed the same rank.
One claimant is Akanksha Singh from Arrah, Bhojpur (Bihar), who says she secured AIR 301 and has the documents to prove it. The other claimant is Dr. Akanksha Singh from Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh), who studied at AIIMS Patna and also says that the same rank belongs to her.
The controversy intensified after both candidates shared their admit cards and documents online. Interestingly, both admit cards reportedly showed the same roll number 0856794, raising serious questions.
QR Code Twist
The dispute took a new turn when the QR codes on the documents were scanned. Reports suggest:
The QR code on the Ghazipur candidate’s interview letter shows Roll No. 0856794 and application number 12507292880.
The QR code on the Arrah candidate’s admit card reportedly shows Roll No. 0856569, despite the printed roll number appearing as 0856794.
Another difference is that the Arrah candidate reportedly shared a prelims admit card, while the Ghazipur candidate shared an interview call letter.
Because of these discrepancies, many observers believe the Ghazipur candidate’s claim currently appears stronger, though no official confirmation has been issued yet.
Social Media Debate
The controversy has sparked intense debate on social media, with supporters backing both sides. Some users suspect possible document tampering, while others are demanding a clear explanation from the Union Public Service Commission.
The truth will likely be confirmed only when UPSC officially clarifies the roll number, application details, and identity of the candidate who secured AIR 301.
Until then, this unusual dispute has become one of the most talked-about controversies linked to India’s most prestigious examination.
