There are 4 books in the Bible known as Gospels. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the Synoptic Gospels which means a general summary or synopsis. Matthew demonstrates that Jesus is the promised King of the line of David. Mark emphasizes the humanity of Jesus. Luke uses a methodical approach to proclaim Jesus as God and as the Messiah to the Gentiles too.
John was likely the last Gospel written. Probably 40-50 years after the death of Jesus. Written initially for the church at Ephesus by the apostle John
an eyewitness as one of Jesus’ disciples who was trained and commissioned by Jesus as an apostle.
