Tanween is the double Fat-ha, double Kasra, and double Dhumma, which all have the sound 'an' 'in' and 'un' respectively. They always appear and the end of a word, unlike other vowels.

Tanween always appear at the end of a word.
They all look like double Fat-ha, double Kasra, double Dhumma.
In the Qur'an, Tanween are either closer or slightly apart in order to clarify some rules of Tajweed.
