Hundreds of U.S troops land in Poland amidst Ukraine crisis

Описание: PLANES carrying U.S. soldiers and vehicles landed in Poland on Tuesday adding to the numbers that arrived on Monday amidst the Ukraine crisis.

More planes are expected to arrive at Rzeszow-Jasionka airport in southeastern Poland close to the border with Ukraine.

The troops are among 1,700 service members, mainly from the 82nd Airborne Division based in Fort Bragg, being deployed to Poland to protect the eastern flank of NATO from the possibility of a Russian attack on Ukraine.

Russia, which has deployed more than 100,000 troops near the Ukrainian frontier, denies Western accusations that it is planning an invasion.
