March 8, 2019 - Dr. Richard Hovannisian, Professor Emeritus of Armenian and Near Eastern History at the University of California, Los Angeles, speaks to Glendale and La Cañada 5th & 6th grade teachers, librarians, and school administrators about genocide education, the impact of the Armenian Genocide on his own life as the child of survivors, growing up in California, and how that background shaped and formed his understanding of the prejudice, ethnic diversity and the quest for justice.
Hovannisian spoke at a professional development workshop led by The Genocide Education Project and hosted by the Glendale Unified School District.
