These visual studies began as an experiment in the late 1980s while I was completing my Video Art & Multimedia degree at the University of Iowa. At the time, I was interested in what remained when dance was slowed down, fractured, and pulled apart. Ballet became less about performance and more about motion, color, and residue.
The original pieces were silent.
This version introduces a new soundtrack composed decades later, allowing the work to breathe in a different way than it could then.
What hasn’t changed is the intention:
to let movement dissolve into abstraction, and to see what survives when form is no longer intact.
