Canning Fresh Pomegranate Jelly: From whole fruit through the final product

How to peel a pomegranate without the mess AND get ruby-red, clear juice. All that and a beautiful jelly from this single vlog. Come along!
This is the first recipe that we canned together over 20 years ago. This jelly is easy to make. We have a pomegranate tree/bush, so it's a neat way for us to share our bounty with family and friends. We also like the juice from our homegrown, organic fruit.
This video will walk you through de-seeding and juicing pomegranates all the way through making delicious and beautiful jelly.
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups pure pomegranate juice (you can use commercially prepared juice, but it cannot contain any additives, including sugar)
1 box of MCP pectin
1/4 teaspoon butter (optional to control foam)
5 cups sugar
Make sure to wash your brand new lids in hot, soapy water. DO NOT reuse lids. Wash your rings in hot soapy water. Jars must be sterilized, as this recipe only requires 5 minutes in a water-bath canner. You can steam can, if you prefer. If you do, please follow the manufacturer's instructions for your altitude and canner.
Please do not store any home-canned foods without removing the rings. Please do not stack jars of food. Both of those mistakes could cause false seals and could jeopardize the health of you, your family, and your friends.
