Rhythm rolling. “Cajun Porch Blues (Fais Do-Do)” is a front-porch Cajun-blues moment—where the food’s cookin’ and the groove won’t quit. Jambalaya, gumbo, and rice… served with porch-built grit.

“Fais do-do” (say: FAY doh-DOH) is a Louisiana Cajun French phrase that literally means “go to sleep.”
How it became music slang:
• At old Cajun dance parties, the grown-ups would tell the kids “fais do-do” so they’d go sleep in the next room (or on coats/blankets) while the adults danced to live music.
• Over time, “a fais do-do” came to mean the whole event: a Cajun dance party / community dance with a band, food, and folks two-stepping.
So in my title, “Cajun Porch Blues (Fais Do-Do)” reads like:
“Porch blues with that Cajun dance-party spirit.” 🤠📻
