The SHAMROCKS were a phenomenon: they never charted in Sweden, their home country, but were the most successful Swedish rock band in Europe in the second half of the '60s, with placements in the German, French, Dutch and even Japanese charts.
It all started in 1962, when

Jan Granaht (g)
Bernt Ek (b) and
Göran Andersson (g)
formed the SHAMROCKS, a band that - like almost everyone else at the time - was inspired by the Shadows. For 55 Swedish kronor, they then made their first public appearance as a purely instrumental group on October 17, 1962.
