Описание: Papua New Guinea’s poor road conditions remain one of the country’s biggest everyday challenges. Many roads are unsealed, narrow, and badly damaged by heavy rain, landslides, and flooding, making travel slow, expensive, and sometimes dangerous. In rural areas, broken bridges and muddy tracks can cut off whole communities for weeks, limiting access to schools, health services, and markets. Even in towns and cities, potholes and poorly maintained roads cause frequent vehicle breakdowns and accidents. These conditions increase the cost of transport, push up prices of basic goods, and slow economic growth. Improving road infrastructure is not just about transport—it’s about connecting people, supporting livelihoods, and opening opportunities for development across Papua New Guinea.
