The vlog begins with a quiet day at home — preparing breakfast for my daughter, cooking Sri Lankan kottu for dinner, and packing for a short getaway. The next morning, we set off on a road trip from Auckland to Napier, visiting Hawke’s Bay for the first time.

On the way, we stop to admire the beautiful Waipunga Falls before reaching Napier and enjoying the views from Bluff Hill Lookout. For the next two nights, we stay at the peaceful Clearview Estate Winery, surrounded by vineyards and the ocean breeze.

The following morning begins with a calm sunrise at Te Awanga Point Beach, followed by the highlight of the trip — a hike up the iconic Te Mata Peak, including a walk through the majestic Big Redwoods. I found the views from the top truly breathtaking.

Before heading home, we take one last moment by Napier Beach near Marine Parade, enjoying a quiet sunset and promising ourselves to return someday — perhaps in autumn, when Hawke’s Bay turns golden.
