We were fishing outside of the Sooke harbour on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada Sept 9 2021. A pod, or more than one pod, of orca (killer) whales was approaching us from several directions. When they were about 200 metres away we pulled in our gear and shut the motor off. This one whale came closer and closer and snatched a salmon from just under the surface about 8 metres away from us!
