That Piece You Are After (Lies Within You) - Is a song about the one that is beyond us, yet within us - Paramatma (Divine/God). This 9 Minute epic aims to capture the feeling of the chaotic & complex journey that happens to reach the divine within one's self. This emotion was envisioned sonically using the Ragas Pilu, Kafi & Mishra Khamaj of Hindusthani Paddhati (1 or the 2 Musical Systems/Branches of Bharatiya Shastriya Sangeet). This song perfectly blends Simplicity & Complexity by featuring sections in different odd beat cycles like 17, 13, 10 still composed in a seamless way helping the listener achieve a flow statement both through the melodies & rhythm.

What is Sitar Metal?

Established in 2015 by Sitar Player Rishabh Seen, SITAR METAL™ is the World's First & Only Sitar fronted Indian Classical-Metal band from Bharat. Rooted in the ancient, embracing the contemporary, SITAR METAL has a Bharatiya Shastriya Sangeet forefront & a Heavy Metal Backdrop, led by the Sitar & delivering a unique sound which is Bharatiya & Globally resonant at the same time.

Since childhood Rishabh Seen was taught by his Guru, Iconic Sitar Maestro Pt. Manu Kumar Seen, that Gayan, Vadan & Nritya were all rooted in Sanatana Hindu Dharma Shastras. Here, वाद्य संगीत instrumental music held a sacred place too. Divine figures like Bhagwan Krishna with flute, Bhagwan Shiva with damru, Mata Saraswati with veena embody the spiritual essence & importance of instrumental music in Bharat’s heritage. These teachings laid Rishabh’s musical foundation & his drive to make instrumental music a norm

From 2011, Rishabh Seen has aimed at expanding the reach of Sitar which he knew could only happen if Sitar was taken to musical territories beyond the usual genres it was used in. He also envisioned a future where the sitar could command the same excitement as guitars, Violins or pianos, inspiring youth worldwide to embrace it, buy it & learn it. In 2015 his idea of SITAR METAL became the vehicle of his global & revolutionary vision.

From 2015 to 2019 Rishabh Seen released viral Sitar Metal Playthrough Versions of Metal songs by different bands, his two internationally acclaimed & ground-breaking EP Albums Mute The Saint (2015-16) & Sitar Metal (2019-20) reached millions, receiving headlines from global music media like Forbes Asia, Metal Injection, Louder, Loudwire, Rolling Stone India, Forbes India, ScoopWhoop, Firstpost, Hindustan Times, News18 network & many more. Many dismissed SITAR METAL, arguing instrumental music could never captivate large live audiences but, a 19 year old undeterred Rishabh’s dedication led to SITAR METAL headlining some of the biggest Indian music festivals & prestigious venues within a year of its inception. Without a lead singer SITAR METAL's instrumental songs proved that instrumental music could rival vocal-led performances in front of thousands of people.

A SITAR METAL concert is a unique cultural experience where Shanti (peace) meets Shakti (power) & Anand (bliss) converges with Rudra (ferocity). Audiences engage in circle pits, jump to rhythms & sing along to sitar notes, while many close their eyes, letting the divine Sitar melodies touch their souls. This blend of traditional & modern, spiritual & heavy, melodic & complex, has carved a singular niche for SITAR METAL in the world of music, being hailed as a new Genre in itself by listeners.
