I'm a huge fan of all things miniature/toy/tool. Lately I've developed an obsession with colorful little plastic keychain puzzles that were created since the late 1930's. This "Bibendum" keychain puzzle was made in the likeness of the Michelin Tire mascot. There have been several versions of this puzzle in different sizes and puzzle configurations. This one is the large version with the narrow key.
Over its life-time it has gathered a bit of grime and yellowing. I thought I would show the steps I go through to do a basic clean and restore on these. I like patina and a bit of age on vintage items so I won't be removing all the character it has earned, but I did want to clean what I could.
I'm no expert film maker so please excuse the imperfections. I'd be grateful for any tips on how to improve the process. I would also love any additional information regarding these puzzles.
