Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has successfully tested the new Sayyad-3G naval air-defense missile from the warship Shahid Sayyad Shirazi during military drills in the Strait of Hormuz — a strategic chokepoint through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply flows.

The Sayyad-3G is the naval variant of Iran’s Sayyad surface-to-air family and is designed to provide extended air-defense coverage out to about 150 km, enabling Iranian naval forces to engage jets, drones, patrol aircraft, and cruise missiles approaching from long range.
