On Saturday 8 March 2025, hundreds of people gathered in St George's Cathedral, Southwark, for the Rite of Election.
Over 450 people are due to join the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Southwark this year.
In his homily at the service, Archbishop John Wilson spoke about the call of the Lord Jesus to each of us. Archbishop John said: "The Lord Jesus has seen you and know that he is calling you".
The Archbishop quoted St Francis de Sales who said the Lord's heart is "a heart on which all our names are written". Archbishop John added "Your name is written on the heart of Jesus".
