Hello! I’m back again with another music video! This time covering the track “Dump” from Chapter 3 of Deltarune.
This track was great fun to reinterpret! In the game it plays if you get the S rank in the Tenna minigames and unlock the “special” S rank room. It’s at this point in the game where the secret route really starts to pick up and you realize the significance of the character Ramb. I thought Toby took a unique take on this character who I, like many others, anticipated to be the secret boss itself just like Spamton was before him. In the game, however, he acts more like a childhood friend of Kris who is more than a little willing to turn a blind eye as Kris plays the actual original copy of the old game they used to play with their brother. So, I wanted to dedicate this track to the character Ramb and make it feel like a journey through his story, from when you first begin the secret route to the moment he turns to stone. I tried to make the music even better this time around, blending in more samples as well as improving the artwork and storytelling. By the end, I think this piece dovetails nicely with my Burning Eyes remix and can perhaps be seen as a sort of prequel to my previous video! I hope you like it!
Lastly, I want to apologize for the long wait between this video and my previous video. The fact it has already been half a year since I finished my Burning Eyes Remix is wild to me! I know we as Deltarune fans are accustomed to long waits between releases, but hardly two videos a year is anything but ideal and has me a little dissatisfied. I know I want to upload more than that. What took so long on this video was not the music itself, as that was one of the first things I finished, but the video itself and artwork is what extended the project. Other priorities came up as well and I realized it would be a while before this video was finally finished. With that in mind, I think moving forward I will try and practice limiting my scope so I can release more projects more frequently. I will still try and make each video as good as I can, but I will try and keep things a little simpler on the art department moving forward, at least in terms of these remixes where I assume the music itself is the main course to begin with.
