Just ask the 400,000 users of an AI “girlfriend” app whose personal photos and conversations were leaked… or the 25 million users of another AI assistant whose chats were exposed on topics like self-harm, criminal activity, and other deeply sensitive personal issues.

In this video, I rank 30 cloud-based AI assistants from most private to least private using two transparent scoring rubrics, plus a Confidence score to account for how well-documented each platform is.

People use AI assistants for everything from writing emails and resumes to financial and medical advice — and emotional support on intensely personal matters. Over time, these systems can learn a tremendous amount about you… and about the people in your life you talk about. So what’s collected? What’s retained? What’s linked to you? What’s shared? And is your content used to train the model?
