Oliver Dowden expressed regret over Mhairi Black’s announcement yesterday that she will step down as an SNP MP at the next general election.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that “she and I joined this House at the same time and I know she has contributed much to her party and to this place”.
Ms Black, the SNP’s deputy leader in Westminster who was standing in at PMQs for Stephen Flynn, hit back with a joke about Mr Dowden’s electoral chances.
