There's an open source geographic information system.

So my wife asked me if I can install it today on one of our open source Linux computers so that she could use it at home.

Now, there's apparently scripting and stuff that can be done in Python in QGIS, and that is what I am going to be playing around with.

So GIS systems are used heavily in the oil field and that is what my wife does for a living. She works in the oil field and helps to do like the research and the regulatory work for getting permits and whatnot.

Hey, and this is just one more thing in the long list of open-source technologies that I am going to become familiar with.
