A special lamp that I'm making for my father on his birthday.
I have a few IKEA Tertial lamps lying around and I find that they run too hot when I'm using them. By disassembling the lamps and running a 6 wire cable through the arm, I'm able to modify the lamp.
Currently, I'm using a breadboard to prototype the LED controller. It has a ATTINY2313v chip which I purchased from ebay and a ULN2003APG transistor. I used the PWM on the ATTINY2313v chip to do a gentle fade. Initially, I had wanted to use a potentiometer to control the brightness of the lamp, but soon found out that the ATTINY chips had no analog input pins. I had to settle for a 3 toggle button to cycle through 3 brightness settings.
Will post more samples when I have built the controller box.
