From left base, turning on to final for Runway 05 at Lee on Solent.
The circuit for powered aircraft is left-hand for R05 and right-hand for R23, but DO check their website and the relevant plates. PPR is mandatory. Gliders operate there too as well as a SAR helicopter, so no overhead joins.
As you can see, there is a long displaced threshold to give a good height over the beach, road and buildings, so we were surprised to see a couple of aircraft coming in too low !
The airfield is fully licensed and reorganised. The people there are very friendly and efficient, so we will certainly go again. There is also a gate to provide a short walk to the beach, snacks, ice-creams etc.
