From Baldur's Gate 3 to Dwarf Fortress to Fable, Video Games can have wildly different approaches to telling stories. And we, those who play video games, can learn a lot from those stories! Just because Mass Effect and Journey and Dragon Age are all in the past doesn't mean that their advice and approach to involving the audience in their stories can't apply to writers.
Video Games, especially modern ones, tell great stories through the use of interesting settings, robust characters, and raised stakes. There is so much that video games do well and we can apply that to our own writing!
