This trip wasn't just about the miles; it was about keeping a promise and making a long-overdue trip to "hug a friend's neck" in Calera, OK and deliver a Harley Davidson beanie to my friends grandson. Mission was accomplished.

The Ouachita Forest: Navigating the dense pines and rugged terrain of one of America's oldest national forests.
Talimena Scenic Drive: A 54-mile stretch of ridgeline beauty with 22 scenic vistas, including stops at Panorama Vista and the historic Queen Wilhelmina State Park.

The Mission: Pushing through the heat of mid-September to reach Calera, OK, before turning North for a rest in Ft. Smith, AR.
