Less than a minute after the Kansas City Mavericks surrendered the lead to the Allen Americans in 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs action, forward A.J. Vanderbeck got it right back for them in stunning fashion. The rookie shot from below the goal line and in the near corner, but still somehow found the back of the net. The Mavericks held onto the lead this time and evened the series 1-1.
