Trying to find the exact location of the O2 sensors on your 2016 Ford Explorer? In this video, I show you where Bank 1 Sensor 1 and Bank 2 Sensor 2 are located — and how to tell the difference.
✅ Bank 1 Sensor 1 = Upstream (pre-cat) on cylinder 1 side
✅ Bank 2 Sensor 2 = Downstream (post-cat) on opposite side
This applies to many Ford Explorers with the 3.5L V6 from *2011–2019* — including XLT, Limited, and Sport trims.
🧰 Tools used: Torx sockets, oxygen sensor socket, ratchet
🧠 No reprogramming needed, but you may need a scanner to reset codes after replacement.
