BEAD: 7/64 Gritty Tungsten - Orange
WEIGHT: .015 Lead Wire

TAIL: Pheasant Tail Fibers - Orange

Lance Dean of Fishbait's Fly Box demonstrates the tying of a variation of a Copper John that uses pheasant tail and a Firehole hook.

The Copper John is my favorite fly and is generally the first fly I tie to the end of my line when checking out a new body of water. This variation has a wider hook gap and utilizes pheasant tail as a tail and leg material. The gritty bead gives it a gruff, unique look has the ability elicit strikes.
