I’m filming this in my new home library, and while this channel is usually focused on horror books and BookTube content, I wanted to take a break from the reading pile and talk about horror movies, cult cinema, and boutique Blu-ray releases again.

For 2026 I decided to resubscribe to Vinegar Syndrome, the boutique home video label known for restoring obscure horror, exploitation, cult, and genre films on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Their yearly subscriber program sends out a monthly package with brand new releases from Vinegar Syndrome at a discounted rate and any additional partner label titles you choose to add on. Sometimes you get incredible rediscoveries… sometimes you get absolute duds. But no matter what, it's wonderful to see movies of all kinds getting the royal treatment they deserve!

So in this episode I’m opening the January 2026 Vinegar Syndrome Subscriber Package, checking out the packaging, slipcovers, and special features, and then blind watching the movies to give my first impressions, thoughts on the transfers, and my rating using the very scientific question:
“How much vinegar is in that boot?”
