Homes are decorated, and grand feasts are prepared. People share food and rice beer (locally known as zu), especially with relatives and neighbors, symbolizing friendship and goodwill.

The festival features traditional dances, folk songs, and music, performed in vibrant traditional attire. These performances narrate ancestral tales and reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Lotha Nagas.

Tokhü Emong also includes reconciliation rituals. Disputes are settled, and relationships are restored. It’s a time for forgiveness, unity, and renewal of community ties.

People exchange gifts such as meat, rice beer, and handwoven items, promoting harmony and friendship.
