Lyrics :-
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
paap kaho yaa punya kaho
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
ek chhavi thi laakhon mein, aan basi in aankhon mein
ek kali muskaayi thi, man bhanwre ko bhayi thi
ik din pyaar kaa phool khilaa, mere sur ko geet milaa
par kismat laayi rang naye, sur chhoote aur geet gaye
beech bhanwar toone chhodaa, mere prem se munh modaa
pyaar pe aisaa vaar kiyaa, uff jeenaa, uff jeenaa dushwaar kiyaa
ab sharaab ne saath diyaa to, tujh bin jeena seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
log kahen kyon haa
log kahen kyon peete ho, man kahtaa kyon jeete ho
jeene ki koyi chaah nahin, marne ki koyi raah nahin
jeewan hi jab rog yahaan, bolo iski dawaa kahaan
pyaar ke jaam na peete ham, khokar hosh na paate gham
hamne manzil dhoondhi thi, lekin qismat roothi thi
raah mein saathi haay
raah mein saathi chhoot gayaa, thes lagi dil toot gayaa
ab to issi nashe ke dhaagon, se dil seenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
maine peenaa seekh liyaa
arre paap kaho yaa punya kaho
maine peena seekh liya
maine peena seekh liya..

Storyline :-
Childhood sweethearts Gopi [Ameeta ]and Kishen [Rajendra Kumar ] hope to get married when they are grown up. Gopi dances to the magical tunes of Kishen's clarinet (shenai), and both are virtually inseparable. Years pass by, both have grown up and Gopi's mom, Jamuna, would like Gopi to get married to a young man from Lucknow, by the name of Shekhar, who works for All India Radio. Shekhar visits them, meets Gopi, and approves of this marriage, and asks Jamuna to finalize a day for the marriage. When this news reaches Gopi and Kishen both are heartbroken, as much as Kishen would like to marry Gopi he knows that he is unemployed and poor, and hence not considered a good suitor. Additionally, his mentor and guardian, Raghunath, would like him to marry his daughter, Ramkali, and may ask him to make the ultimate sacrifice by demanding this as his guru-dakshina (teacher's fee). Then the villagers ask Kishen to leave the town as he has brought shame on them all by continuing to meet with Gopi, who has now been promised..rAjOo
Trivia :-
A few years earlier, director Vijay Bhatt had cast two unknown actresses in his film Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1954): Ameeta in the heroine role and Asha Parekh in the child's role. He decided to make Asha a heroine in Goonj Uthi Shehnai, but after a few days of filming, he fired her claiming she wasn't star material and hired Ameeta (who cut her fee in half to secure the role) to replace Asha in his film, since she was just coming off of Nasir Hussain's hit film Tumsa Nahin Dekha (1957)
