When furniture designers Barbara and Robert “Tiff” Tiffany purchased a 10,500-square-foot historic grain and saw mill over thirty years ago in Pennsylvania (Zone 6B), they had no idea what they were in for. The steep, shaded ravine was overrun with invasive bamboo and badly degraded soil—a far cry from the lush paradise it would become. But as Barbara began clearing the land, she also began cultivating a deep fascination for rare and unusual plants from around the world. We had visited their garden back in late August 2025, but this time, we're here in early spring (June 1, 2026) to see what's new.
