In this video I am checking out Katastrophe from my buddy Chris at JPTR FX.

If you know anything about JPTR FX, you'll know that Chris designs pedals that are a little different from the norm. They aren't your average pedals. They all make sounds you may be familiar with, but they are also capable of taking you places you might never go tonally. I find his work very inspiring and very unique.

The Katastrophe is a drive pedal which is one half Marshall on the verge of exploding, and the other half octave up. The Marshall side is a British voiced, mid focused drive tone that takes you from classic Tubescreamer ranges to more gain than you can ever imagine (Chris even recommends running this into an already overdriven amp!!). The other side adds the octave up circuit from the Silver Machine fuzz, but without the fuzz. This gives you a crisp, clean octave up to blend with your driven tone for some amazing, soaring leads.

In the video I am using my Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional and my Stanford Guitars Crossroad Marquee, both are plugged into the Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 which is running into the Two Notes Torpedo Captor X. The reverb is coming from the Surfy Industries Surfybear Classic.
