A deeply concerning case has come to light from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where an 8-year-old girl from a shoe businessman’s family went missing under mysterious circumstances and was later found inside a rented room within the same residential premises.

The incident started on Tuesday afternoon around 2 PM when the child was last seen playing with other children in the neighborhood. CCTV footage showed her near a local shop, after which she could not be located. By evening, when she didn’t return home, her family informed the police.

Acting swiftly, Agra Police registered a missing report under IPC Section 363 and formed multiple investigation teams under ACP Piyush Kant Rai. Extensive searches were conducted across the locality, CCTV footage was reviewed, and several individuals were questioned, but no immediate breakthrough was achieved.

Suspicion increased when a tenant named Sunil, who lived in the same building and worked as a painter and factory worker, became untraceable after initially assisting in the search efforts.

On Wednesday night around 8 PM, police accessed the locked room of the tenant and discovered the child inside a container, which had been covered with household items.

DCP City Syed Ali Abbas stated that the body was sent for postmortem examination. The report indicated serious injuries and confirmed that the cause of passing was excessive blood loss.

The incident led to strong reactions from local residents, with a brief protest and road blockade at Fatehabad Road’s Mughal Puliya lasting around 30 minutes. Authorities intervened and assured strict action along with fast-track legal proceedings.

A case has been registered against the accused Sunil, and around 10 police teams are actively working to locate him.

This case highlights important concerns regarding safety, trust, and proper tenant verification in residential areas.
