Turtle Stock Tank Setup: Step by step

How to make a stock tank turtle setup:

1. Start with an empty stock barrel
2. Put down a substrate. I used sand for mine, but you can also use large rocks, dirt, or you can leave it bare.
3. Next, you should decide what decorations you want. I went to a nearby park and found a bunch of rocks and wood that I would use for my stock tank. This is a great cheap way to decorate your turtle tank. If you use anything from outside, make sure to clean it and put it in boiling water.
4. You should also decide what to use for your turtles basking platform in the stock tank. I used a large piece of wood.
5. Next, place all of the decorations into the tank.
6. Fill it up with water. If you used tap water, make sure to add a water conditioner after you fill up your turtle stock tank.
7. The last step is to add your turtle to their new home. I suggest you watch them for a little bit to make sure they can easily move around the tank and that they can’t escape. You may need to add a net to your stock tank if you me turtle tries to escape.
